This paper presents a continuum model for the spatial redistribution of excess vacancies generated during quenching in multicomponent Al alloys. By coupling vacancy diffusion with grain boundary absorption and annihilation, the model predicts the heterogeneous vacancy distribution across grains and its downstream effect on the kinetics and spatial uniformity of age hardening — directly relevant to industrial heat treatment optimisation of 2xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx series alloys.
